Old magazine rack.... into new.

Was an old, beat up, very dark brown 70's magazine rack, 

and now it is a valspar painted, (and stain/glaze) turquiouse, up-to-date magazine rack .. Love it!

I am slowly transforming our house. On a short budget (like non-existent)  and minimal time, I am trying to freshen up the house with  little bit of new design. Our house WAS all decorated with reds and browns and I slowly transitioning to blue and green re-purposed items. The couch pillows were one of the first to go...

"Followers"

Ugh, me and my "newbie" blogging has landed me with a great big DUH on my head!

I have been working hard to gain followers and have really enjoyed everyone communicating and helping me with the fundraising efforts. I just couldn't figure out why my followers were only at a measly five?!?!

Thanks to Kim at Tiaras and Bowties for bringing it my attention my audience wasn't able to "follow" me because the option was not displayed on my page!!! UGH!

So, now the problem is fixed, I hope :)

Baby Booties

Since this project uses scrap and some left over buttons, it is actually as pretty cheap project! The most expensive part of it is the elastic inside. I happen to have it on hand, but  even if you don't, these are so cute they are worth the couple dollars and sooo much cheaper than buying at store!

Oh they are cute!! I had to give these a try... You can find lots of free patterns out there for free baby bootie sewing patterns like HERE and HERE.
 These came together quickly and fit great on a friends baby who is 8 months old.  Just wanted to share what I think might have to be an item I practice and get perfected to sell at the shop :)

Messy Kids

My kids are a mess. Eating, playing, heck even sometimes even just moving. So, they need the ability to clean up after themselves even when I can't reach a paper towel or a napkin  on the counter. So, I grabbed some inexpensive towels from Ace hardware dollar section (If you have never been there you really need to go!) and did a little personalizing on each towel so there is no confusion as to whose mess it is. so here are the lil towels of "H" and "T"

I especially like that T towel is for the Saucy and sassy little three year old! It fits perfect!
