well, the daughters easter dress was a huge success. so springy, cute, functional, and pattern-friendly....

So, my home is still transforming to more fun-lovin turquoise!!

those flowers HAD to go.... so enters the turquoise spray paint!!

Now it displays proudly in its blue-lovin color, on my computer cabinet

Yikes, can't say I would use it the way it was, but some sanding paper, turquoise paint, and a proper fun metal stand, I now have a new addition....

Valentine hearts

My morning consisted of three kids under five, chocolate, sticky candy canes, and a whole lotta messy fun, but hey... at least they all turned out cute!!

Daughter distress- Organizing 2012 P3

So, my daughter is at an age where she thinks her clothes are mearly accessories to her lovely personality which also changes every 3.2 seconds. She changes her clothes soooooo often it makes me dizzy. Does she put the clothes away? hell no.   I decided to make a sorting game.  It has been two days, and she is still diggin it. I started with some clearance christmas doo-dad ornament thingies (yes, technical term)

Then I turned to the computer to find some appropriate clipart, printed it out, and had the daughter help me identify and glue the new pics to the ornaments

We found shirts, pants, sweatshirts, pajamas, socks, etc. Glued them all on....

Seems so simple, but I think it might just be enough of a gimmic to get a three-year-old to cooperate

:)

Husband Pile- Organizing 2012 P2

So, I have a bone to pick with my husband (and he is fully aware of it)  He walks in the door from work and a mess just follows. 

Actually his mess walks in before he does. 

Every day, before even walking up the one-step entry way, he empties his pockets on to the entrance ledge and leaves a heaping pile of crap which he leaves there until he leaves for work the following morning. It annoys me, he knows it annoys me, but just can't seem to make the change. So I have decided to try and at least make his mess look prettier.   

I started with this random plastic piece. I actually don't know what it is. I had like 50 of them donated to me and figured they would come in handy somehow. Anyone know what it is? something for cross stitch or something? they are plastic... I dunno

I began cutting the plastic to make pieces for the fabric box I intended to make for my husbands mess. It took a bit of measuring, and some left over turquoise fabric, and out came a fabric box to house his S%&$* stuff , at least I can see the pretty box I made before seeing his crap-o-la that is STILL on the ledge!!

Now how do I get him to take off his boots BEFORE walking all over my newly washed floors.. hmmm.. project for another day, I guess.

Bias Tape hell - Oragnizing 2012 P1

Like so many others, I am taking the new year to find some new organizing systems for everything from craft room to bathrooms.  I need to start small because I need to do projects while the rascals children are napping.  So went to the craft room picked up this WILD basket of Bias tape

Yup, it needed help, so found this organizer buried deep in the back of shelf ill-filled with little embellishments which could easily find a new home, took out the center row separators  

and beautiful organized all the bias tape and Hem facing. Ahhh, that feels better :)
